How the trainer plays like Overwatch

Overwatch heroes move fast, fly and blink around, and most have 200 health or more. Hitscan heroes need smooth tracking for sustained damage, plus clean flicks for headshots on Cassidy, Ashe and Widowmaker.

Aim Trainer's Overwatch mode uses a low-recoil, high fire-rate rifle whose spread grows after the first few shots, so you burst to stay accurate at range. Bots strafe at Overwatch speeds and jump often.

• Sensitivity

  Type in your Overwatch sensitivity and the trainer turns exactly as far as Overwatch for the same mouse movement. A 360° check confirms it.

• Rifle: Pulse Rifle

  Low recoil, high fire rate hitscan. Spread grows after the first few shots – burst to stay accurate at range.

• Enemies

  Enemies have 200 health, a red outline, a health bar and crit damage numbers, the way Overwatch shows them.

• Map

  The Auto map setting picks Neon District for Overwatch. Cover blocks your shots, and bots shoot back from Tier III.

Best aim drills for Overwatch

Tracking for Soldier: 76, Tracer and Sojourn, flick accuracy for Cassidy, Ashe and Widowmaker, and target switching in team fights.

• Strafe Track

  Stay on fast strafing targets for a full engagement.

• Sky Track

  Track Pharah, Echo and Mercy-style targets in the air.

• Jitter Track

  Fast direction changes, like a Tracer or Genji dodging.

• Spiderflick

  Flick out to targets around you and back: headshots for Cassidy and Ashe.

• Long Watch

  Scoped sniper practice for Widowmaker and Ashe players.

• Switchblade

  Clear several targets in a row, as when you switch from tank to support in a team fight.

A 15-minute Overwatch aim routine

Do this before you queue. Play each drill at the tier where you hit most of your shots, and move up a tier when you reach Gold.

How to improve your aim in Overwatch

• Track for sustained damage

  Soldier, Tracer and Sojourn need smooth tracking. Practise staying on fast strafing and flying targets.

• Flick for headshots

  Cassidy, Ashe and Widowmaker win fights with single precise shots. Practise flicking out to targets and back.

• Aim at the head height of each hero

  Hitboxes vary a lot in Overwatch. Keep your crosshair where heads appear on the heroes you face most.

• Use per-hero sensitivity sparingly

  It's tempting to tune every hero. Keep one base sens and only change it for heroes that clearly need it.

Overwatch sensitivity in cm/360

cm/360 is how far you move your mouse to turn a full circle. It is the one number that means the same thing in every game. Overwatch 2 uses the same sensitivity scale as Overwatch 1 and Call of Duty. Overwatch players usually play faster than Valorant or CS2 players, because heroes move and fly around you.
